Duties include filing records, assisting in audits, and collecting information. The clerk will complete clerical requests and fulfill medical record requests within timelines as directed by the Administrator of Medical Records. Will scan documents into Focus Software as assigned by the Administrator of Medical Records. Must understand the basic laws and regulations related to confidentiality and record maintenance and retention and is expected to consult with the Administrator of Medical records on any new or unusual types of requests. Will have communication with Program Director from time to time while processing records requests and must have good communication skills and positive customer service. This position may be asked to prepare spreadsheets, run reports for Quality Assurance purposes, and/or create invoices related to Medical Records. This position may be required to pick up, open, sort, and distribute mail related to Medical Records and may assist the Program Director to ensure proper performance of office equipment and maintain needed supplies and inventory for Medical Records tasks. Must be organized with respect to filing and scanning, understand all filing systems in the records room, and ensure that records are stored securely and able to be recalled quickly. Must be cross-trained with other records staff, flexible, and a team player willing to assist with records related tasks in the department as needed.
