Our client, Adler Institute for Advanced Imaging, is seeking a dedicated full-time Medical Receptionist/Scheduler to join their team at the Jenkintown, PA office. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the efficient operation of their PET/CT facility located in the Philadelphia suburbs. The role will primarily be in-office Monday through Friday, with potential for remote work and occasional schedule adjustments for vacation coverage.
Responsibilities:
- Scheduling appointments and coordinating patient visits
- Warmly welcoming and checking in patients
- Creating and maintaining accurate medical records
- Inputting patient information into our database
- Managing incoming calls and responding to messages promptly
- Handling incoming and outgoing faxes
- Performing administrative tasks such as copying, scanning, and filing documents
- Calmly providing clear and informative descriptions of procedures to patients
- Assisting in the creation and finalization of reports
- Sending reports as directed, with the possibility of occasional overtime from home
- Demonstrating expertise in navigating various insurance companies' guidelines for approval and obtaining radiology pre-certifications
- Experience in writing insurance appeals is a plus
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent certification/experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a medical office setting
- Familiarity with electronic health records, preferably eClinicalWorks (eCW)
- Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods
- Manual dexterity to operate office equipment such as computers, phones, and scanners
- Ability to lift and move up to 20 pounds for file and document handling
- Visual acuity to read documents and computer screens
- Auditory ability to handle phone calls and communicate with patients and colleagues
