Experienced Medical Receptionist needed for a busy Surgical Practice. The Medical Receptionist, under the direction of the Practice Manager, provides administrative support in the front office using excellent customer service and communication skills as a representative of Crozer Health and the assigned provide practice group(s) and serves as a liaison between patient and clinical staff. Responsible for greeting, scheduling, and assisting the patient during the visit and promoting excellence in patient satisfaction and the patient experience. Performs duties in support the Crozer Health mission to ensure the highest quality of patient care in an economically sound and efficient manner.
Instructs patients on what to bring during the upcoming visit(s) and provides directions to the practice. Calls patients prior to the appointment to confirm date/time, verify referral will be active on date of service, review copays and reminds patient to bring appropriate test results and images, etc. Notifies patients of all testing results as instructed by provider. Collects point of service (POS) payments to include co-pays, deductibles, and balance for all applicable services. Deposits payments in accordance with the Crozer Health Medical Group (CHMG) policy. Researches and resolves all insurance related problems as requested by billing department. Maintains inventory of medical and office supplies; orders and confirms delivery of supplies. Daily: Opens and routes incoming mail and faxes, faxes documents, distributes correspondence and other material to department staff in a timely manner. Assist in reporting the repair and malfunctioning of equipment. Assists with the preparation of charts for patient visit, scans and files documents as required into EMR: test results, faxes, notes, referrals, etc. and/or ensures imaging and other reports are uploaded if needed into EMR prior to the visit date. Assist with front office duties (check-in registration, check-out, and scheduling) and provides cross coverage for team members as required including but not limited to billing support, inventorying office and medical supplies, scanning/filing documents into the EMR and preparing exam rooms) and other duties as assigned during downtime or slow patient hours.
