We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join our thriving psychiatry private practice. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a smooth and efficient operation of the front desk. This position plays a crucial role in creating a positive and welcoming environment for patients seeking mental health services.
Responsibilities:
1. Greet and assist patients in a friendly and professional manner, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
2. Manage patient appointments, scheduling, and rescheduling as needed, while optimizing the appointment calendar for maximum efficiency.
3. Collect patient information, verify insurance benefits, and ensure accurate and up-to-date records are maintained.
4. Handle patient inquiries, both in person and over the phone, providing information and assistance as needed.
5. Coordinate with medical staff to ensure timely and accurate communication of patient needs and concerns.
6. Process payments, issue receipts, and manage billing inquiries in collaboration with the billing department.
7. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all privacy regulations when handling patient information.
8. Manage the waiting area to ensure a comfortable and organized environment for patients.
9. Assist in the completion of administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies.
10. Collaborate with other administrative staff to ensure the overall smooth functioning of the practice.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as a Medical Front Desk Receptionist in a healthcare setting, preferably in psychiatry or mental health.
2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, staff, and external contacts.
3. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
4. Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance procedures, and basic understanding of mental health services.
5. Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and standard office software.
6. Ability to handle stressful situations with composure and maintain a positive attitude.
7. Understanding of patient confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.
8. High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in medical office administration is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
