Job Title: Medical Receptionist / Medical Assistant Float
Kirsch Dermatology, located in downtown Naples, Florida, is a boutique dermatology practice that strives to provide excellent patient care and an outstanding patient experience. We are looking for a motivated, team-oriented individual to join the Kirsch Dermatology family as a part time employee. This position is for relief/backup support for our Medical Receptionist to help with answering phones as well as medication prior authorizations and although not a regular obligation of this employee, the position will also include occasional float as a Medical Assistant when needed.
Schedule will be Tuesday through Thursday from 8am - 5pm, although schedule is flexible for the right candidate.
Receptionist Duties:
- Greet patients and assist with check-in and check-out
- Schedule appointments and procedures via telephone and in person
- Answer phone calls to direct/refer inquiries
- Submit paperwork and follow up on medication prior authorizations
- Maintain an organized, efficient and professional reception area
- Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information
- Obtain revenue by recording and updating financial information and collecting patient charges
- Maintain product inventory and equipment by keeping record of stock, determine inventory level and anticipation of needed supplies
- Protect patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information within HIPPA regulations
- Adhere to company policies and procedures during all activities
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Medical Assistant Duties:
- The Medical Assistant will be responsible for rooming patients, taking and documenting a history and physical and assisting the healthcare provider with patient examinations and procedures
- The Medical Assistant must be able to enter correct data into the electronic medical record system (EMR) which includes updating and insuring medication is accurate, allergies are correct, address and phone number are correct, as well as multiple other aspects of the patients chart in a timely manner
- Other duties include restocking work areas and ensuring all supplies are organized, completing diagnostic and procedure coding, as well as counseling patients regarding the use of medications and post-surgical and post-cosmetic care
Requirements:
- Bilingual and fluent in both English and Spanish
- Experience as Medical Receptionist required and/or Medical Assistant experience is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic medical procedures
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and record keeping
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Ability to work as an active team member by interacting effectively and supportively with staff and patients in order to maintain a professional working environment
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
