Medical Receptionist Front Office

Job Title: Front Office Check In / Check Out

JobPurpose: Attend to patients on the phone and in person. Coordinate and organize appointments and documentation to facilitate the smooth running of the healthcare environment and support delivery of quality patient care.

Reports to: Operations Manager

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Adherence to quality standards and proper procedures for Front Office
• Resolve patient complaints and/or answer patient’s questions regarding policies and procedures
• Answer calls, greet customers and patients, and schedule appointments in electronic medical records system
• Verify insurance online and through direct contact with insurance companies
• Check in/Check out patients, ensure patient paperwork completion
• Correct and efficient entering of information into electronic medical records
• Collect payments including copays, deductibles and past due balances
• Communicate professionally and courteously to everyone, especially to patients; including utilizing de-escalation techniques and remaining calm in stressful situations
• Handle sensitive matters in fast paced, high performance environment
• Work well under pressure and maintain Front Office organization and professionalism
• Work in an accurate and efficient manner
• Work in cohesive team environment and provide assistance to other co-workers when their workload becomes burdensome or slows down the flow of the front desk
• Follow HIPAA guidelines and help protect the company from HIPAA violations
• Understand all insurance providers, including which networks are considered in-network or out-of-network
• Perform other duties as assigned

Skills/Qualifications:

· Strong computer skills

· Professionalism

· Effective communication skills

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Previous medical office experience required

· Knowledge of medical Front Office procedures; and abiding by all Front Office procedures

· Excellent Customer Service skills and etiquette

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour
