Front Desk Receptionist
POSITION SUMMARY:
Greeting all patients upon arrival. Checking patients in/out. Collecting of outstanding balances due, or deposit amounts for procedures, along with copays/coinsurances/deductibles due. Printing/Uploading patient paperwork. Answering incoming patient phone calls, scheduling, scanning of documents, shredding as needed.
JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet patients professionally and kindly.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Answers incoming telephone calls, routes calls to appropriate person. Documenting message correctly in the patient charts.
- Makes appointments for patients by following established office policies and procedures.
- Cross reference insurance verification information to ensure that we are collecting the appropriate amounts due from patients.
- Ensures accuracy of patient information including proper insurance, address, demographic changes on each patient.
- Scans in new patient driver’s licenses and insurance cards.
- Organizes forms and required paperwork by provider each day, to prep for next day.
- Appropriately notifies clinical personnel of patient’s arrival for appointment and if patient is running late also notifying and communicating with the MA if patient is late to their appointment.
- Call patients for appointment reminders.
- Making sure the journal balances at the end of the day and that all patient payments are properly posted to each patient account.
- Supports check in/out, schedulers as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High school diploma required.
Experience/Skills: Preferably two years of experience in a medical practice setting.
EMR experience. Excellent customer service, excellent organizational skills, able to multi-task and set and meet priorities required. Must be familiar and knowledgeable with computers. Able to provide co-workers, patients, doctors, and management with responses in a positive, supportive and cooperative manner. Detail-oriented and good follow-through skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $17.00 - $20 per hour depending on experience

- Monday - Thursday 08:30 AM - 5:30 PM Fridays 08:30 AM- 3:00 PM
Experience:
- Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
