Medical Receptionist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and organized Medical Receptionist to join our team. The Medical Receptionist will be responsible for providing administrative support in a medical office setting. The ideal candidate should have experience in medical reception or administration, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to multitask effectively.

Duties:
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the appointment calendar
- Verify patient information and update electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Criterions
- Collect patient co-pays and process insurance information
- Assist with medical billing and coding tasks
- Maintain confidentiality of patient records and follow HIPAA guidelines
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as needed
- Manage medical records, including filing, scanning, and organizing documents
- Provide general administrative support such as data entry, faxing, and copying

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in medical administration is a plus
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar administrative role preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is highly desirable
- Proficiency in using computer software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
