Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and organized Medical Receptionist to join our team. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service and administrative support in a medical office setting. Your attention to detail and ability to multitask will contribute to the smooth operation of our front desk.
Duties:
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Register new patients and update existing patient information in the system
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and direct calls to the appropriate staff members
- Verify insurance information and collect co-pays or payments from patients
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Assist with medical records management, including filing, scanning, and organizing documents
- Obtain authorizations from primary care physicians - Collaborate with the medical team to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent customer service
Skills:
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Strong knowledge of medical office procedures and terminology
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to handle phone calls and inquiries with professionalism and patience
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong customer service skills with a compassionate and empathetic approach
- Familiarity with front desk operations, including patient check-in/out processes
