We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our team. The Medical Receptionist will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service, managing medical scheduling, and maintaining accurate medical records. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of medical terminology, and experience with medical office systems such as Nextgen . Knowledge of HIPAA regulations is also required.
```Responsibilities```
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments using the medical office system
- Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays or payments
- Maintain patient records and update information as necessary
- Assist with medical record requests and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as needed
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and faxes
- Ensure the waiting area is clean, organized, and welcoming to patients
-· To respond to patient enquiries where needed consulting with team members. To flag problems with the office manager.
```Skills```
- Strong knowledge of medical scheduling procedures and front desk operations
- Proficiency in using medical office systems such as eClinicalWorks and Eaglesoft
- Familiarity with medical terminology and ability to accurately transcribe information
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on providing exceptional patient care
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Review schedules for the next day to ensure paperwork has been completed, contacting patients for scheduling/rescheduling/cancelations
- To collect payments throughout the day from patients. contact patients to discuss billing, ensure that patients are being sent to collections in a timely manner, notate patient accounts appropriately.
- Filing, faxing and photocopying as required
- Multi task between performing screenings and other administrative work.
- Upload all results to patient’s chart in EHR system. Print copies for providers if needed.
- Maintain an inventory list and ensure supplies are ordered on a timely manner.
- To keep up to date with practice changes and policies by using communication, meetings and e-mail updates. To suggest changes to improve services.
