Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Establishes oneself as the role model for teamwork, professionalism and
cooperation/support for the physician team and other members of SCOI.
2. Acts in a manner that is supportive of SCOI policies and mission.
3. Ensures the smooth running of the physician practice and recommends
improvement where warranted.
4. Maintains the physician calendar, clinic and surgical schedules and on-call calendars.
5. Works with Payer Relations department to ensure physicians credentialing is
current and CV and licenses are up-to-date.
6. Schedules appointments, surgeries and/or surgical procedures as per the physician
protocol.
7. Coordinates authorizations with CCWC and Patient Benefits.
8. Coordinates receipt of x-rays, diagnostic testing and lab results.
9. Coordinates surgical pre-op, authorization and associated paperwork.
10. Responsible for prescription refills.
11. Schedules deposition and collects fees.
12. Manages the med-legal process, including scheduling of QME, AME, IME,
quoting and collection of fees, and the managing of associated records/x-rays.
- Must be knowledgeable in scheduling and reporting as per Labor Code.
- Must be knowledgeable in reporting guidelines as established by Labor Code.
- Must be able to coordinate the timely receipt of all paper work for AME/IME/QME
- Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely with attorneys and or adjusters.
13. Ensures translators are scheduled as appropriate.
14. Follows all pertinent requirements of Meaningful Use and PQRS.
15. Required to be a Certified Medical Assistant within 90 days of hire.
16. Triages physician phone calls and provides call backs in timely fashion.
17. Answers all emails and SRS messages within (1) business day.
18. Checks and maintains team faxes and processes as needed.
19. Triages incoming messages via the SCOI patient portal and responds within (1) business day.
20. Maintains records within EMR following specified protocols and policies.
21. Other duties as assigned.
Additional Duties: Oversees activities of other team members to ensure smooth running of the physician’s practice. Delegates as appropriate to other team members. Acts as a role model for others and assists as necessary.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $26.00 per hour
