Position Summary: The Assistant completes various tasks in our Medical Office, including; new Patient Scheduling, insurance verifications, updating patient charts, reviewing referrals and coordinating patient transfer of care requests. Once trained, the person may help as a float for coverage of co-worker vacations. Knowledge of medical transcription/ or willing to learn this function is a plus!
Knowledge/ Education/ Experience:
- Excellent face to face customer service skills
- High school diploma or GED
- We prefer a minimum of 2 years of experience in a private practice physician office or healthcare setting
- Medical transcription experience is a plus
- Excellent verbal, communication and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize work flows/ processes to meet deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and patients throughout the practice
- Working knowledge of computer software programs (Microsoft Word and Excel)
