Advanced Physical Therapy is hiring a Medical Assistant/Office Coordinator. This is a unique position, and the employee will perform both administrative tasks and assist orthopedic doctors who visit the office. The individual who fills this position must work well with others and be dependable. Within the office there will be a peer with whom you share job responsibilities. The patient mix is heavily PA workers’ compensation. The ability to organize, schedule patients and coordinate with other medical offices and lawyers is an essential component to this job. The job requires an individual who is willing to learn new tasks and show initiative.
Job responsibilities include scheduling, obtaining medical records, coordinating with the orthopedic office, coordinating with lawyers and meeting the individual needs of each client. There is coordinating with patients and direction required for prescriptions, medical imaging and Uber rides for those in need. Some flexibility with end time for a workday is both offered and needed. In addition to these tasks, this individual will also perform traditional medical assistant work alongside an established orthopedic group one to two days each week at this office. This component of the job includes, intake paperwork, medical history, obtaining medical records, assisting doctor with completion of paperwork and preparation of needles for injections. The ability to track details and organize multiple tasks is essential. The ability to recognize, discuss and respond to emerging situations is essential. Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
