Our Bath Health and Wellness Lab is looking to add a Medical Lab Technician to their small team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting biological procedures and accurately documenting the test results.

Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates the knowledge and theory of applicable Clinical Laboratory Medicine in order to produce required measure of accuracy.
- Receives and processes various biological specimens in accordance with established procedures.
- Performs routine and some complex laboratory procedures (waived, moderately complex or highly complex as defined by CLIA)using standard and sophisticated instrumentation and equipment in accordance with established procedures.
- Aids in proper reagent and chemical solution preparation, labeling and storage.
- Evaluates validity of test results using quality control standards, instrumentation function checks, and/or department policies and procedures.
- Evaluates and records test results in timely and accurate manner.
- Initiates appropriate corrective action to alleviate any deficiencies of quality assurance standards or established specified limits.
- Consistently coordinates all work with co-workers to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency during the assigned shift. Strives to be an effective and productive member of the institution.
- Performs and documents preventive maintenance measures, troubleshooting and calibration procedures, on department's equipment and instruments.
- Provides general training to medical technology students and others under training and orientation.
- Always shows an awareness of proper safety procedures.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge and understanding of computer functions.
- Assumes personal responsibility for on-going continuing education and professional development.
- Provides instruction and explanation to patients and/or family member when performing point-of-care testing procedures.
- Completes all mandatory in-service programs required within stated time frame.
- Follows system and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety.
- Completes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements. Maintains applicable certification/licensure.

Education:
- Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory technician.
Certifications:
- National certification as Medical Laboratory Technician. Within one year of hire secures and maintains current MLT certification. Must complete and document all continuing education required to maintain certification.
Complexity of Work:
- Knowledge and understanding of computer functions. Written and verbal communication skills.
