- Retrieve and collect necessary Medical Documentation from healthcare providers, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with healthcare professionals, physicians, and other stakeholders to request and obtain required medical records.
- Verify that obtained Medical Documentation meets regulatory and compliance standards. Ensure adherence to legal and ethical standards in handling sensitive medical information.
- Effectively maintain medical records in the database, ensuring legibility and accurate placement within the relevant documentation section of the patient's account.
- Collaborate with the DME team to understand specific documentation requirements for various equipment and ensure alignment with patient needs.
- Manages all stopped orders for multiple price option needing additional documentation to continue billing
- Manages all stopped orders related to out of network insurance plans.
- Navigate the prior authorization process by liaising with healthcare providers, payers, and other stakeholders to secure necessary approvals for DME services.
- Initiates authorization requests with insurance companies and government payers.
- Monitors outstanding prior authorization requests and initiates follow up of authorizations in a timely manner.
- Manages phone calls related to the above responsible areas.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on Medical Documentation to identify discrepancies or missing information and take appropriate steps to rectify.
- Stay informed about updates in Medical Documentation standards, regulations, and DME practices. Provide training and education to staff on documentation requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience in Prior Authorizations, Medical Documentation retrieval and management is preferred.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and other relevant healthcare compliance standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in handling medical records.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications for documentation management.
- Starting hourly wage no less than $16.50
