Medical Billing Specialist

A highly reputable and respected radiology group is seeking an eager to learn, entry level Medical Billing Specialist to join their professional team! The Medical Billing Specialist will be responsible for sorting and opening all mail, scanning in necessary documents, organizing checks and deposits, entering payment batches into excel, taking patient calls and answering billing related questions over the phone.
Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of office work experience
• High school diploma or GED
• Efficient and highly accurate data entry skills
• Detail oriented
• Customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Medical terminology and Medical Billing knowledge

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Update PHI as needed: insurance, name, guarantor, accident information, phone number etc.
• Process credit card payments received over the phone and enter them into Microsoft Excel
• Answer billing related calls and questions in a professional and friendly way
• Organize and process incoming mail and returns
• Organize checks and deposits
• Photocopy and scan documents
• Faxing
• Other duties as assigned

Schedule:

• Hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Pay and Benefits:

• $18.00/hr starting
• This is a temp-to-hire position offered by Abbott & Associates Professional Placement with their client company. Full benefits will be offered once the employee is offer a promotion to permanent status.
