Halfsmoke is hiring a Bar Manager: Provide timely, accurate and friendly service while preparing the highest quality beverages for our guests. - Maintain inventory - Maintain quality of beverage menu (batched and hand crafted) - Ensure cleanliness of bar - Track customer behavior and sales - Maintain budget and monitor bar costs - Ensure each shift is set up for success and flows efficiently - Maintain drink recipe documentation - Coordinate planning for special events - Appropriately delegate tasks to bar team - Select and purchases liquor and other supplies - Oversee FOH staff and occasionally kitchen staff as well - Hires, trains, promotes, and, when necessary, disciplines staff - Initiates and maintains vendor relationships - Operate as Manager on Duty when General Manager is not present - DC ABRA Manager's License - Be eligible for DC Health Dept. Manager's License - 5+ years experience in restaurant setting (at least 1yr in leadership role) - 2+ years bar experience - Experience and comfortability leading a team - Excellent multitasking ability - Interpersonal relationship skills - Attention to detail - Exceptional customer service skills - Knowledge of food, beverage, and hospitality industries - Able to maintain restraint in stressful situations - Ability to deescalate tense interactions - Facility with math - Comfortable with hospitality and sales technology platforms - Enthusiasm and lots of energy
