As a Medical Biller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement for healthcare services. Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records and patient information to ensure accurate billing and coding
- Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD-9, ICD-10) to diagnoses and procedures
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve any billing discrepancies
- Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries and disputes
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Stay up-to-date with changes in medical coding and billing practices
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Billing and coding (CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnoses
- Familiarity with Medical Billing software and electronic health record systems
- Experience with medical collections and accounts receivable follow-up
- Obtaining insurance verifications and prior authorizations

Preferred experience and skills, but not required:
- Previous experience in an ophthalmology specialty practice
- CPC or CPB certification

- Medicare and Medicaid
- Bilingual (Spanish)
