We are looking for an individual who is well versed in Medical Billing, payment and charge posting, as well as pre-authorization. This individual must work well within a team setting and be capable of assisting all billing positions.
The medical biller must be able to prepare and submit patient bills to all health insurance payors. This individual will assist in initiating and follow-up on prior authorizations to the insurance carriers prior to patient appointment. As well as assisting the team with claim denials, patient accounts, and various other administrative duties.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain and following up on prior authorizations
- Perform posting charges
- Perform completion of claims to payers
- Post insurance and patient payments accurately
- Manage and reconcile EOBs for posting of payments
- Ensure clean claim submissions
- Work with insurance aging reports, denials, and re-submission of claims
- Identify and troubleshoot billing, guarantor, insurance plan, and payer issues
- Conduct duties in a professional and timely fashion
- Achieve maximum reimbursement for services provided
- Deploy, maintain, and report on various programs
- Have overall proficiency with revenue cycle workflows
Experience/Skills:
- Experience in Medical Billing or related field
- Proficiency in medical terminology, coding systems, and billing processes
- Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid guidelines
- Familiarity with medical collection practices and insurance claim processing
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
