We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller and front desk coordinator to join our team. As a Medical Biller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing for medical services. As front desk coordinator you will be interacting with patients and other medical practices for scheduling, telephone and email communications. If you have a strong understanding of medical coding and billing systems, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Review and verify patient information for accuracy and completeness
- Assign appropriate medical codes and modifiers using ICD-10 and other coding systems
- Submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials
-Obtain all necessary authorizations and pre authorizations for treatment
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Assist with medical collections as needed
- Stay up-to-date with changes in Medical Billing and coding regulations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in Medical Billing or coding preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems, and procedures
- Proficient in using Medical Billing software and electronic health record systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding is a plus
- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred
