Department Description

Cornerstone Medical Group Administration Office is located on Garfield Rd in between 19 Mile and Hall Rd. in Clinton Township.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for detailed analysis of accounts/claims to obtain maximum reimbursement in an acceptable timeframe.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reviews, corrects, and works unpaid claims based on work assignment, department policy/procedures, and coding/payor regulations.
• Communicates as necessary with payors to resolve billing issues.
• Prepares and reviews routine billing reports. Recommends process improvements based on findings.
• Maintains and improves technical knowledge of billing diagnosis codes, procedure codes, modifiers and insurance regulations.
• Responds to complex telephone and written inquiries from patients and/or third party payors and physician practices with resolution.
• Understands assigned working goals.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

-COMPLEXITY OF WORK: Within scope of job, this position requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
- PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s Degree in Medical Billing preferred.
- CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, OTHER: N/A
- WORK EXPERIENCE: Billing experience required. One (1) year of medical billing required OR three (3) months of on the job training and orientation required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.70 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
