Vitality Healthcare, PC is a well-established, innovative, functional medicine practice located in Portage, MI.We provide exceptional care in our state-of-the-art wellness facility in Southwest Michigan using a multi-disciplinary, total approach to overall health, which includes functional medicine, physical therapy, chiropractic, massage therapy, and nutritional medicine. We are in need of a Medical Biller. This person will provide billing, financial, and collections services for our patients.

Previous experience coding and billing medical, chiropractic, or physical therapy services, reviewing EOB's from insurance companies, troubleshooting all unpaid balances, and determining account adjustments is required. Experience in verification of insurance eligibility and benefit coverage information is also required. Ability to communicate financial payment plans to patients is preferred. Proficiency with billing software, Excel, and EHR is required.

Duties may include:

· Provide billing, collections and financial services as needed

· Review patients’ billing statements to ensure the accuracy of information

· Prepare patients’ billing statements and ensure that they are sent to them promptly

· Assist in evaluating patients’ financial status and devise/communicate payment plans

· Follow up on delinquent accounts and ensure payments where possible

· Perform collection actions by calling patients

· Code when necessary and submit claims, work and resubmit denied claims

· Ensure processing of payments from insurance companies

· Maintain payment status and billing records

· Perform data entry activities

· Prepare reports and track productivity

· Track and resolve billing discrepancies

· Work with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to ensure timely payment of bills

· Verify patients’ insurance coverage

· Perform appeals on denied claims

· Assist with accounts receivable reports and ensure A/R is up-to-date

· Answer patient/staff questions via phone and in office to resolve problems regarding medical billing activities

· Assist with Financial Consultations excel document creation

· Assist with medical billing specialists/front desk receptionists/providers in performing charge and data entry duties and perform additional duties as needed
