We are seeking a skilled Medical Biller to join our team. The Medical Biller will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical procedures and ensuring timely payment from insurance companies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical coding systems, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Duties:
- Review and analyze medical records to accurately assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations, including ICD-10 coding
- Submit claims to insurance companies electronically
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, resolving any billing discrepancies
- Communicate with insurance companies to verify coverage and resolve billing issues
- Maintain accurate patient records, including demographic information and insurance details
- Provide support to patients regarding billing inquiries and payment arrangements
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate documentation and billing practices
Skills:
- Proficiency in medical coding systems, including ICD-10
- Knowledge of E-clinicalworks (ECW) is a plus
- Strong knowledge of medical billing processes and procedures
- Experience with medical collection practices
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
