SalaryNorth Florida Surgery Center is excited to have Medical Biller & Coder join the team!
The Medical Biller & Coder would know the coding for a multi-specialty surgery center (ASC) for specialties including pain management, ophthalmology, orthopedics, ENT, GYN, neurosurgery and podiatry. Additionally, the Medical Biller & Coder would assist in the billing claims submission process and appeals process as needed.
Duties
- Review and verify medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG) to diagnoses and procedures
- Submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on unpaid or denied claims
- Process payments from insurance companies and patients
- Maintain patient billing records and update information as needed
- Answer patient inquiries regarding billing and insurance coverage
- Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure accurate and timely billing
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
- Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role in a multi-specialty surgery center
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing procedures
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and medical office software
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
-Must be a certified Coder
