JOB SUMMARY:
The Medical Assistant – Registered provides clinical, clerical, and administrative tasks in an OMP outpatient clinic. Under the supervision and direction of a provider (physician or advanced practice clinician) or Medical Office Nurse Coordinator, the registered Medical Assistant performs duties that are consistent with his/her Medical Assistant education, training, experience and registration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
High school diploma/GED required
Experience
One year of experience in health care in an outpatient clinic preferred (experience specific to the type of clinic being hired for is preferred)
Licensure/Credentials
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire
- Current attestation filed with the Department of Health and signed by a healthcare practitioner authorizing performance of tasks required within 60 days of hire

- Accrues based on hours worked, equivalent to 4 days per year for a full-time employee (pro-rated for part-time). Maximum of 480 hours allowed in bank. Accrued time may be used to cover illnesses beginning the 4th scheduled consecutive day of work missed due to illness.
