Medical Assistant Front Office

Our office is located in the city of Downey. We are currently offering full time positions with an immediate openings. Candidates will be responsible to work both Front Office and back office. Interested candidates must have flexible scheduling, and be able to work Monday through Friday from 9:00am- 6:00pm with possible overtime. Candidates must also have reliable transportation.

We are seeking individuals who have a growth mindset, ability to think on their feet independently, but also can work well in teams, behave professionally with patients and colleagues, and are adaptable to a variety of situations.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Front- and back-office

• Answer phone calls and triage calls to appropriate personnel.
• Provide administrative support to physicians and staff.
• Schedule office visits
• Register new patients and update all relevant patient information, demographic and clinical into EMR system (eClinicalWorks).
• Verify patient’s insurance information and obtain authorizations where applicable.
• Check in patients, and process co-pay collection.
• Escort patients into rooms, and take vital signs (blood pressure, height/weight, etc).
• Facilitate patient flow by notifying physicians of patients’ arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff.
• Stock patient examination rooms and hallways with supplies and help maintain cleanliness.
• Protect patient privacy and maintain HIPAA standards.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be Spanish speaking
• One year of Medical Assistant experience
• Must be computer literate with excellent grammar and typing skills: (Microsoft Word, Excel, EMR programs).
