Position Summary: The Certified Medical Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse and in cooperation with other staff in assisting with safe and effective patient care within the scope of duties outlined in this document. This position is Tuesday - Friday, 8:00 am - 1:00 pm.
Education and Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program or Registered Medical Assistant status.
- One-year patient care experience preferably in a hospital setting.
Required Licensure, Registration and Certification:
- Current Washington State certification
- National certification within one year of graduation from MA program
- Current Basic Life Support certification
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Reads and comprehends English.
- Functions within the scope and limits of the position and the employee/patient relationship.
- Communicates effectively, respectfully and accurately (oral and written applications).
- Understands basic arithmetic calculations for safe administration of medications.
- Competently performs all skills outlined in this document.
- Possesses visual and hearing abilities required to communicate, read labels and mix solutions.
