Job description
- Degree in Social Work or a related field, from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience in the field preferred.
- Minimum 1-year experience, preferably in a health care setting or social work setting.
- Must have the ability to work efficiently, responsibly, and independently. Excellent time management skills required.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills with a high sensitivity to the needs of others, including the ability to communicate effectively with staff, administrators, patients, families, physicians, volunteers, and other customers.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training within ninety days of hire.
- Maintain the safety of the unit, patients and staff.
- Assist with the completion of Psychosocial Assessment, Mental Status Exam, and Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test within 72 hours of admission.
- Coordinate and contribute towards individual and group therapy activities according to an established program schedule.
- Assist in the coordination of discharge planning in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team
- Offer family education as needed to complete discharge coordination.
- Participate in daily treatment team as needed
- Knowledge of Community Resources and strong networking
- Assumes responsibility for meeting annual in-service requirements and ongoing personal development.
