Medical Assistant - Cardiology

Well-established cardiovascular clinic is seeking for a responsible, professional, well-mannered, dependable and highly skilled Front and Back Office Medical Assistant. This is a full time position with benefits. Hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. No weekends or holidays.

Qualifications:

• Certified/Registered Medical Assistant

• Cardiac/vascular experience (preferred but not required)

• Knowledge of Epic EMR is a plus

• Previous medical office and/or medical assisting experience

• Clinical Back Office experience REQUIRED

• CPR/BLS/AED certification

• High School Diploma/GED or beyond

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office

• Knowledge of medical terminology

• Previous experience with medical insurance, referrals, pre-authorization

• Knowledge of billing and collections

• Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus

• Must be well-organized, efficient and able to multi-task

• Must have a stable work history

• Must be willing to cross train in other practice area as required

Daily responsibilities include but not limited to:

Back Office Duty

• Vital Signs

• EKG

• Record medical summary into EMR

• Prepare patients for examination by medical providers

• Assist providers with exams/treatments/procedures

• Prepare patients' charts the night before

• Obtain medical records

• Call prescriptions in and refills

• Perform other duties as assigned

Front Office Duty

• Greet all visitors

• Provide excellent and quality customer service

• Answer multi-phone lines

• Check patient in and out in a timely manner

• Assist with scheduling and confirming future appointments and procedures

• Verify patient information, insurance eligibility and benefits

• Collection and posting of payments

• Processing and scanning of medical records

• Perform other duties as assigned
