Location: Westborough, MA - Inpatient Acute Treatment Services (ATS) Program
Schedule: 2nd Shift.3pm-11:30pm, 40 hours/week, weekends required
Pay rate: $22.00-$25.00/hour
The Medical Assistant is responsible for:
- Greeting clients in a professional, friendly manner.
- Performing various administrative and clinical duties under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing and/or nursing staff.
- Obtaining and recording vital signs for new admissions and as needed by unit nursing.
- Obtaining medical history for new admissions.
- Pulling charts from all units when the physician is on-site for signatures and returning to appropriate departments when completed.
- Making copies of necessary medical documentation during admissions process and filing in charts.
- Corresponding with pharmacy and coordinating medication transfers as needed.
- Coordinating with outside providers for medication requests, appointment requests, obtaining PHI.
- Stocking of all nursing stations including medications, medical supplies, and medical paperwork.
- Completing routine medical supply inventory and submitting to DON.
- Ensuring medical office spaces present as a clean and organized environment in compliance with health and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Graduate from an accredited medical assisting program
- Medical Assistant Certification (CMA)
- Prior experience in a behavioral healthcare setting is preferred.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Minimum three years computer experience and familiarity with Windows 2000, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word is required.
