In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that all processes, systems, reviews, and oversight that are required for Medicaid billing are in place and monitored, and that billing is submitted timely and Medicaid payments are received.
Job Description- Submit Medicaid claims as part of daily and monthly routine processes.
- Complete daily review of all rejected/denied claims for timely re-billing submission.
- Oversee payment collection status from state agencies.
- Conduct collection meetings with Business Office Staff and monitor progress on action plans.
- Complete billing reconsiderations and appeals, submit claim adjustments and make corrections in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all billed claims have been subsequently paid and monitor community AR on a routine basis, communicating all trends to the team.
- Obtain Managed Care insurance authorizations from various insurances as indicated.
- Reconcile billing submission and collection results with accounts receivable and identify errors made within the billing or accounting process.
- Comply with billing guidelines and regulations and complete all billing and collection processes in compliance with company, state, and federal requirements.
- Provide assistance to the community regarding reporting income changes, completing redeterminations, Medicaid applications and spenddowns.
- Monitor pending Medicaid applications and assist community to ensure timely approvals.
- Review AR aging report routinely to identify collection and accounting issues.
- You have 3+ years of Medicaid billing experience in a high volume setting.
- Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
- You have expertise in MCO and Illinois State Medicaid billing portals and eligibility systems, DDE & EMC claims submission, and CMS 1500 & UB04 formats.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- You have the ability to learn new software applications quickly.
- You have the ability to prioritize responsibilities to ensure that critical deadlines are met.
- You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
