May-Dann is seeking a Medicaid Billing Specialist to support our home care and private home healthcare agencies.

Our recent acquisition of Elder Care North Alabama is part of our long term vision of growth and in meeting this commitment we are looking for an experienced Medicaid Billing Specialist to play a significant role as part of our care delivery team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hard working experienced individual. Responsible for manual and electronic billing functions and maintaining patient records which include: pre-billing and post billing activities as well as caregiver compliance maintenance.
Must have at least 2 years’ experience in a medical billing office, with in-depth knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, VA and commercial insurance policies and procedures, including pre-authorizations, coding, reimbursement and denials management. Good written and verbal English, phone etiquette and computer skills.
You must have direct related experience in working with the HHA eXchange program or similarly approved program for Alabama State Medicaid.

Key Duties:
- Making sure patient information in HHA Exchange current.
- Make sure every active member has a valid authorization.
- Entering new and closing authorizations in HHA Exchange as needed.
- Obtaining, correcting, and extending authorizations by calling vendors as needed
- Fixing authorizations for billing
- Re-billing claims as needed
- Weekly pulling aging’s to find any open items, investigate and reprocess claims per vendor
- Keep a steady log of reprocessed claims
- Weekly sales reports and Management call reports
- Monthly hours report per vendor.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements of Qualified Candidates:
- High School Diploma Required; Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting preferred.
- Experience with HHA Exchange necessary.
- Working knowledge of billing activities and Non-Medicare Home Health payor requirements
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and accreditation regulations governing home care
- Highly Proficient in Excel, MS Office Word and Outlook
- 1 year previous experience with billing experience
Salary and Compensation.
This is a full time position $17 - $18.50 per hour depending upon experience, PTO and holidays; along with a healthcare reimbursement benefit.
