Media Strategy Director

 Develop and execute game-changing media strategies that tie engagement to the bottom line. As Media Strategy Director you'll develop and implement digital and traditional advertising strategies across clients ranging from leading nonprofits to political and advocacy groups to major brands (and everything in between). This may be the right role for you if you're someone who is equally strategic, creative, and analytical. Switching seamlessly from a client presentation to writing an insightful analysis of campaign performance and translating a client's business objectives into a tactical media plan. You're used to spending most of your day speaking in acronyms - terms like DSP, CPA, IVT, ROAS, and AVOC are major parts of your vocabulary - and you know how to explain them to clients and teammates. You will use your depth of paid media experience to inform your work but also tap into your digital curiosity and passion for innovation to bring new ideas and thinking to the team.

Responsibilities

·        The MSD is accountable for the supervision and management of the media plans, projects and programs for multiple designated clients, as well as the supervision of designated media personnel across all levels

·        The MSD will help guide day-to-day client planning efforts, establish strategic media direction and present the recommended media plans and accompanying rationale to Client Partnerships and/or the client

·        This position interacts with all agency departments, clients and media partners and must be able to establish working relationships at all levels

·        The Media Strategy Director brings a senior level of forward-thinking and innovation to media plan development and ensures plans deliver against the client KPIs and overall audience channel strategy

·        Functions as the strategic media lead on client business in conjunction with Media Supervisors

·        Expected to be an expert across all media, including digital, social and traditional, demonstrating advanced knowledge in all areas

·        Establishes & oversees the team's planning process including research, strategy, evaluations and recommendations of media vehicles and tactics, through plan development, presentation, execution and follow-up

·        Lead media team integration and collaboration with client and internal teams, working with Client Partnerships, Strategy and insights, Creative, PR, Channel and Content on the development of strategic marketing plans to ensure correct media direction

·        Meets with clients on strategic issues and plan presentations

·        Leads, motivates and mentors Media Strategy team, assigns workloads, fosters positive work environment, encourages collaboration and promotes teamwork

·        Leads high-level partner negotiations of rates, positioning and added value opportunities to increase and expand media value and visibility

·        May review and evaluate partner media proposals as submitted, developing POVs as needed

·        Assists media management with staffing decisions, overseeing or conducting annual performance reviews within their teams and providing ongoing evaluations of media staff

·        Oversees professional development of assigned staff, working with Media Supervisors to identify areas of improvement and foster professional development through training, mentoring, and recommending educational opportunities

·        This includes the development of goals, managing status meetings, and providing ongoing evaluations and annual reviews

·        Depending on the client assignment(s), the role may specialize in broadcast, programmatic, or other specialized areas within the organization

·        Should be fluent in the channel and content strategy roles and deliverables

·        Participates in the agency's new business efforts, presentations, and other key department projects as needed

·        Develop solid understanding of assigned client business verticals, objectives and strategies

·        Maintains accurate daily time sheets

·        Maintains a business-appropriate appearance and demeanor with clients and in other professional environments

·        Additional tasks and projects as assigned

Qualifications:

·        Stays on the forefront of digital trends and looks for opportunities within the marketplace, bringing forward proactive ideas and solutions; exhibits desire for continued education including industry trends, market conditions and research

·        Must be conscientious and self-motivated

·        Must be willing to work overtime when necessary

·        Bachelor's degree in advertising or related field or equivalent experience

·        Must have been a Media Supervisor and/or Sr

·        Media Supervisor for at least two years

·        Strong and effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, and demonstrated leadership ability

·        Experience and familiarity with planning and/or buying media including traditional media channels, Facebook Ads Manager, Google Ads (search, YouTube, Google Display Network, Discovery), Programmatic DSPs like The Trade Desk or other social platforms Twitter, Snapchat and TikTok

·        Experience and familiarity with agency research tools including Advantage and Strata/Freewheel, Google Analytics, Google Campaign Manager (formerly DoubleClick) ad server, Scarborough research via Prime Lingo platform, GWI research, Asana, Kantar competitive research, etc.

Compensation Range: $125k - $150k/year Depending on Experience

This is the pay range Bloom Ads reasonably expects it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the level of experience, relevant skills, professional certifications, market pay, and demand for the role. Bloom Ads reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
