Plans, coordinates, and provides expertise and technical direction for research and development activities related to the design, construction, installation, and production of steam or gas turbine generators and systems. Provides engineering and technical support for turbine maintenance, operational and controls troubleshooting and calibration, and mechanical overhauls. Schedules periodic reviews and inspections, reviews the operating status of the turbine units, and handles and tracks component repairs from a technical and financial standpoint. Writes, reviews, and revises technical manuals, drawings, and documentation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Applies advanced electronic control systems, designs, and assists in the manufacture of consumer products and in the development of new electro-mechanical concepts for new product lines.
- Responsible for assembling components, preparing test plans, and supporting testing and validation of products.
- Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
- Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
- Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
- Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead).

Minimum Requirements:
- Required BS in mechanical or systems engineering. (MS with Systems Engineering preferred)
- 3 years of related experience in systems engineering related to turbomachinery for gas turbine engines, vehicle integration and development rigs.
- Demonstrated experience in systems engineering and integration, requirements management, product certification/qualification programs, and supplier interaction / management.
- Excellent communications and collaboration skills.
- Prefer direct turbomachinery production experience and FAA requirements.
Experience and Skills
- Demonstrated systems engineering approach to manage production or development programs.
- Ability to capture requirements from customers and stakeholders and effectively estimate, communicate, and track integrated product team progress.
- Broad understanding of industry standards and practices (including DO-178, DO-254).
- Ability to collaborate with program managers, customers, and team members to assist in developing products that meet requirements.
- Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the assigned duties, including computer skills.
- Maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by company and government requirements.
- Communicate and interact effectively with peers, supervisors, and public, including maintaining respect for others, and following company policies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Some light physical effort required.
- Will be required to perform occasional lifting of light materials.
