KBFS - provides aviation pilot training, heavy lift, aircraft maintenance, and related aircraft services to Government and commercial requirements IAW multiple FAA certifications; S3I- OCONUS FMS technical services, maintenance, and aviation platform training; and, GLSS- SCA/CBA contract aviation maintenance.

Kachemak Bay Flying Service (KBFS) a part-time A&P Mechanics to support our operations in Geneva, AL.

Description:

The Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic manages and/or inspects aircraft maintenance activity including overhaul, modifications, maintenance and repair of aircraft structure, engine, drivetrain, electrical system, and accessories and performs additional duties as directed in support of the Maintenance and Site Managers.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedules aircraft maintenance considering such factors as work flow, location of equipment and facilities, required tools and test sets, supplies and job requirements.
  • Orders parts, lubricants, other supplies, etc., in a timely manner to minimize aircraft down time for these items.
  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance, to include airworthiness inspections, systems troubleshooting, component replacement, powertrain adjustments, and electrical and avionics troubleshooting in accordance with FAA regulations and the manufacturer's specifications.
  • Reads and interprets maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives.
  • Makes entries to FAA required records, logbooks and other means of historical data tracking. Assists Inspection Authority (IA) in maintaining inventory of aircraft and avionics parts, tools, materials, equipment and supplies.
  • Coordinates with other employees for ordering parts and supplies in a timely to effectively maximize aircraft availability and minimize aircraft non-operational status.
  • Communicates effectively with pilots, customers and fellow employees and works well in a team environment.
  • Ensures aircraft, ground support equipment and work areas are maintained to professional standards

Experience:
  • Minimum of 0-1 Year experience performing aircraft maintenance functions that require a valid FAA A&P.
  • Previous experience supporting avionics installation and repair is a plus for this position.

Qualifications:
  • High School Graduate and at least one year of experience performing aircraft maintenance functions that require a valid FAA A.
  • Graduate of Aircraft and Powerplant Technical Training program.
  • Valid FAA A&P Certificate (IA preferred).
  • Experience interacting with Federal Aviation Administration Principal Operations Inspectors, Principal Maintenance Inspectors or Aviation Safety Inspectors.
  • Previously certified or qualified to perform aircraft engine ground runs or tests.
  • Previous experience supporting avionics installation and repair is a plus for this position.
  • A&P experience in repairing general aviation fixed wing aircraft. Similar experience in Rotary Wing aircraft is a plus for this position.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be available to work non-standard schedule that may include evenings and weekends.
