About the Role & Team
The Corporate Real Estate Operations group is responsible for day-to-day facilities operations, capital planning, and engineering operations of owned and leased facilities to ensure business is conducted in a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. We ensure that the value of Company physical assets are protected and improved, adhering to the highest level of engineering standards!
What You Will Do
- The position provides a technical resource for Disney Corporate Real Estate Operations for all corporate properties’ mechanical and building control systems.
- The position objective is to provide engineering services to in-house project teams, clients, and third party consultants as it pertains to design, development, testing/troubleshooting, documentation, programming, and sustaining of all Mechanical, Plumbing, and Building Control Systems throughout the portfolio.
- We are responsible for mechanical design, development, installation, and commissioning for all mechanical, plumbing and control systems.
- Supervise third party MEP consultants in regard to HVAC design / airflow calculations / general client comfort and day to day operational needs
- Assist in critical system design (studios / broadcast spaces / data centers, etc.)
- Develop, review, and interpret mechanical, plumbing, controls, and instrumentation drawings to support projects.
- Recommend and implement engineering changes to accommodate BU requirements
- Provide technical support for capital improvements and forecast expense and capital budgets regarding the service contracts and end of life capital predictive maintenance
- Review new project designs for adherence to Company’s Energy Goals
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 5 plus years of confirmed experience in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Strong communication skills, both with internal staff and with outside entities (e.g. Studio, Walt Disney Imagineering, Vendors)
- Meticulous, detail orientation and ability to work under deadlines/short notices and to troubleshoot problems quickly
- Strong programming and troubleshooting/debug skills
- Mechanical system design, plumbing system design and general experience in electrical design
- Programming Logic Controllers and in Utility, Central Energy Plants, and Lighting Controls experience
- Experience in instrumentation (Flow, Temperature, Pressure), controls field testing, start-up, and commissioning
- Facility Control Systems, Building Controls, and Energy Management Systems experience
- Network communication: BACNet, LONTalk, RS-232, RS-485, Modbus, Ethernet, Fiber…
- Strong digital literacy - MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam REVU.
- Basic Knowledge of electronic devices, power supplies, relays, contact blocks.
Education
- BS or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering
- Engineering in Training (EIT) and/or Professional Engineering license preferred

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $104,200.00 - $143,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
