 JOB SUMMARY

To perform work which involves conventional types of plans, surveys, structures or equipment with relatively few complex features. 

 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Apply the use of standard techniques and theories, precepts and practices in mechanical or electrical engineering, related sciences and disciplines.   
2. Maintain full knowledge of company policies and procedures, and published codes and regulations.
3. Size, select and specify major and minor equipment.
4. Perform site surveys and field investigations.
5. Perform engineering calculations.
6. Prepare contract drawings.
7. Adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies in results and follow operations through a series of related detail steps or processes.
8. Write project specifications. 
9. Assist in the preparation and presentation of project proposals and assure their technical accuracy.
10. Maintain good relationship with clients. 
11. Help develop new business with existing and new clients. 
12. Make decisions on engineering problems and methods. 
13. May assist to represent the company at conferences and meetings to resolve important issues and to plan and coordinate work.
14.  Participate in selected presentation to clients, demonstrating the firm’s technical credentials.
15. Promote business development efforts. 
16. May meet periodically with client project teams to review project progress. 
17. Assure that short and long term business goals and objectives are achieved.
18. Write engineering reports. 

 ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

May supervise or coordinate designers, drafters, technicians and others in assisting with specific assignments. 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology

Licensure

• EIT Certificate Preferred

Skills

• AutoCAD
• Building Systems
• MS Office Suite

Experience

• 3-5 Years' Experience with a Consulting Engineering Firm

 WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for an office environment and occasional site visits. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.

Requirements:

• Licensed Professional Engineer (preferred)
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Mechanical Engineering program
• 3-5 years’ experience working in a consulting engineering firm
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD
• Position requires experience in preparation of contract drawings and specifications, field survey skills, performing calculations, and a thorough knowledge of building codes and standards.
