We are looking for one Mechanical Designer to join our team, preferably within the State of Wisconsin.
Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Designer to create technical drawings for a variety of projects such as signs, façade systems, curtain walls and architectural elements. The Mechanical Designer’s responsibilities include working on fabrication and detail drawings from inception through completion and collaborating with relevant stakeholders during the process.
To be successful as a Mechanical Designer at Jones Sign, you will work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers, and analyze feedback from customers to produce or modify fabrication elements for engineering and manufacturability processes. A top-notch designer will be an adept problem solver, have an excellent eye for design ensuring appropriate specifications and requirements are followed while been a team player.
Duties and Expectations:
- Develop mechanical and models in accordance with company standards and methodology standards.
- High proficiency and workmanship within SolidWorks to create drawing specifications in line with the scope of work. AutoCAD a plus.
- Submit drawings to relevant stakeholders as well as production or construction teams for design reviews.
- Collaborate with project teams on design improvements, bill of materials (BOM’S) and design drawings for manufacturability and cost consideration.
- Provide support and direction during the entire metal fabrication process to ensure that design specifications are met.
- Analyzing manufacturability issues that may arise during fabrication and develop resolutions as required.
- Work jointly with design teams, vendors, and manufacturing teams to complete project design across the full development cycle.
- Adhere to Quality Management System requirements.
Qualifications:
- An associate degree or better in Mechanical Design or Drafting is ideal
- At least 2 plus years of related experience as Mechanical Designer, Drafter, Mechanical Engineer. CAD Drafter; preferably in metal fabrication
- Highly proficient with computer-aided design software, specifically with SolidWorks
- AutoCAD experience is a plus.
- Solid understanding of drawing set up, modeling techniques and design standards.
- An ability to create industry-specific products.
- Must be adaptable and resourceful and a self-starter.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with simultaneous timelines.
- Top-notch verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility and a willingness to adapt to and embrace changes.
