PennyWise Manufacturing is engaged in design/build contracts supporting development, testing and manufacturing of highly-sophisticated equipment.
Mechanical Engineer - Position Overview:
Responsible for the Mechanical Design, development, modification, evaluation and analysis of complex electro-mechanical, components, subassemblies and systems. Has responsibility for ownership of complete projects from initial design to conducting engineering reviews, prototyping, creating drawings, manufacturing and packaging. Both design and hands on assembly is to be expected.
Performance Objectives:
- Key essential functions for this position:
- Prepares CAD designs and models.
- Design, analysis, and evaluate. Perform basic FEA and present findings
- Understands Development process and achieving milestones such as PDR, CDR, Acceptance etc.
- Works with machine shops and 3D print shops to prototype final design models
- Is involved with assembly and testing for prototype validation and testing verification
- Completes documentation and BOMs to support planning, procurement, fabrication and manufacturing.
- Develops test plans and procedures for design validation.
- Provides support of material procurement by interfacing with suppliers/fabricators.
- Provides support to manufacturing for mechanical issues.
- Provides support for creating Assembly Instructions, Installation instructions and technical data sheets.

Qualifications:
- 3-5 years experience in a mechanical engineering position
- BSME or equivalent training/experience.
- SolidWorks modeling and drafting experience
- NX Unigraphics is also a bonus.
- Basic knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods.
- Understanding of machine design and theory of mechanisms.
- Experience using MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint),
- Knowledge of 3D CAD modeling, basic FEA. Interference checks.
Schedule & Details
- 40 hours per week
- Standard hours 8-5 Mon – Friday at the San Clemente office location (some flexibility on schedule is permitted
- Start ASAP with no predetermined end date
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $62,043.00 - $93,234.00 per year
