Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer, Closures in White, Semi

As a Sr. Closures Systems Design Engineer, you will be responsible for conceiving, architecting, designing, and engineering the dynamic exterior systems of Tesla's Semi Truck. You will work alongside pioneering Designers and Engineers through all stages of the product design cycle: From initial sketch and clay modeling, through architecture and design, and finally to validation and product launch. You will be part of the team that creates and executes some of the most notable hallmarks of Tesla design.                    

• Knowledge of vehicle engineering crash and safety requirements
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, mechanics of materials and the ability to think out of the box
• BS/MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 5 + years of structural experience
• Catia V5/V6 experience is preferred. Experience and proven expertise using other CAD software are acceptable
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals
• Semi Truck experience preferred
