OnsiteThis is a 2nd Shift position but training will need to take place on 1st Shift for first 12-18 months until properly certified. Once certified, individual will resume duties on 2nd Shift.
Primary Responsibilities:
- This position requires a skilled individual with extensive experience in Oxygen/Acetylene brazing,
- Instructor is responsible for:
- Becoming a subject matter expert on the brazing done at the Collins Aerospace Burnsville facility
- Provide classroom instruction, evaluate, and advise students in Brazing and other training center classes
- Develop and/or revise brazing and safety curriculum
- Develop and/or revise other training center content as needed.
- Maintain technical knowledge in the field through active participation in professional development organizations and events
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
- Read, interpret, and follows blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material, and other written instructions
- Operates hand tools, electrical tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment, and light equipment
- Perform quality work checks, identifies product defects, and records identified defects
- Rework and/or repairs assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
- Maintains a safe and clean work area
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
- Occupational experience four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in brazing
- Occupational experience teaching brazing or welding
- Evidence of experience working with persons/groups of diverse backgrounds
- Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)
- Knowledge of Blueprint reading
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required

- HS diploma and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 6 years of relevant experience is required.
