How will you make an impact?
The Medical College Admission Test® (MCAT®) is used in the medical school admissions process and assesses applicants' knowledge of the natural and social sciences concepts and their critical thinking and scientific problem-solving skills required to begin the study of medicine. The Manager of MCAT Outreach and Engagement plays an important role in delivering information and resources about the exam and other AAMC assessments' use in the medical school admissions process to all aspiring physicians, prehealth advisors, and admissions officers. The Manager of MCAT Outreach and Engagement will:

  • Develop and implement communications and outreach plans to promote resources, events, and information to help premedical students prepare for and take the MCAT exam.
  • Manage multiple project plans simultaneously and communicate deliverables and progress to MCAT business teams and internal partners.
  • Manage presentation requests, recurring national and regional meeting presentations, event identification, and set multi-year schedules, according to strategic goals.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact and reputation of the MCAT program and AAMC assessments to provide insights into the communications and outreach strategies.
  • Develop messaging with content experts and oversee the review process following editorial best practices and style guidelines.
  • Collaborate with AAMC colleagues and external stakeholders to support outreach and communications to premedical students, prehealth advisors, and admissions officers through presentations, events, and resource development.
  • Support crisis communications planning and implementation.
  • Develop independently or with AAMC creative partners and freelancers short-form videos, articles, graphics, and other digital content to support content strategies that promote information about preparing for and taking the MCAT exam.

What will you bring to the role?
  • Bachelor's degree required: master's degree preferred. Experience/training in communications, public relations, or marketing preferred.
  • 8 Years of Related Work Experience; 1 - 3 Years of Supervisory Experience
  • Superior writing, editing, and language skills; ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in varying formats.
  • Skilled at translating complex concepts or data into writing or visual concepts for student and higher education audiences.
  • Strong Presentation skills. The position will be expected to deliver presentations both individually and with co-presenters to student audiences.
  • Strong Project Management Skills. Experience developing communication and marketing plans, using templates or systems (e.g. Monday.com), and managing large stakeholder groups preferred.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of and experience using social media and digital media platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in presentation software, website CRMs, and Salesforce CRM systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data & analytics to drive strategy and decisions and manage and prioritize a broad portfolio of work.
  • Experience using Google 4 analytics is strongly preferred.
  • Expertise in working with a team to guide the development of effective communications.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Video editing and social media content development preferred.
  • Experience developing or working with content strategies preferred.

If a bachelor's degree is required, related work experience may be substituted in some positions. One year of college course work at an accredited institution is equivalent to one year of related work experience.
