Overview
As a member of our Strategic Finance team, you will play a critical role in driving the strategy, insights, and financial modeling that enable the company to scale. The team is comprised of "Olympic decathletes" (exceptional across disciplines) who partner with the CFO and senior leadership to set and measure drivers for the business, engage investors and the board, solve diverse business problems, and implement operational projects at scale. We seek incredibly talented generalists who can engage at the most senior levels while still sweating the details.
Responsibilities

• Drive projects across Go-to-Market, Product, Supply Chain, Operations, and G&A functions. We expect the intern to tackle 3-4 projects over the course of their internship.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to help solve complex problems. This could be anything from building new models to improve how we drive the business, solving sourcing and refurbishment problems in Taiwan to setting up a sales recruiting machine in Tampa.
• Support initiatives related to external investor engagement - including debt and equity. As a hardware and software maker, we have many layers to this problem.
• Strategy and Financial planning: Help drive our financial planning processes and adapt the financial forecast model for the growing complexity of the business.
• Since we're still in scrappy startup mode, there's a lot of rolling up your sleeves and getting into the weeds to drive direct impact on a daily basis. We knock out today's problems while also balancing our need to build for the long-term.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a full-time MBA program graduating in 2025.
• Ability to work at Verkada HQ for Summer 2024.
• Raw smarts: we are looking for people with strong business acumen who can approach complex problems and solve them from start to finish.
• Strong analytical skills: you have a data-driven mentality and high attention to detail; you are excited to dig through data to get actionable insights. Excel skills are a must; SQL / Looker experience is a plus.
• Excellent modeling skills: you have strong modeling intuition, and a good understanding of how to bring a modeling framework to complicated problems. Strong understanding of accounting and financial concepts is a plus.
• Cross-functional communication: you'll need to connect and partner with stakeholders ranging from sales reps to software engineers to effectively implement our financial strategy and processes. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
• Flexibility: you are comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment that will require you to manage competing priorities, pivot quickly and often, and continually build new processes as the company scales.

Pay Disclosure
At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate's skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity . This estimate can vary based on the factors described above, so the actual starting base pay may be above or below this range. Base pay is also just one component of Verkada's total rewards package. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

$62.50 - $86 USD
