Sr Strategic Finance Manager

Jack in the Box Inc. is seeking a Sr Strategic Finance Manager who will be responsible for providing financial insights related to strategy and investment opportunities, including ideation, management, and presentation of complex financial and non-financial analysis to executive leadership and key business partners to support all facets of the strategy and investment decision making process.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads cross functional teams to analyze and generate impactful customer, competitive, and market insight; collaboratively formulates and communicates creative and actionable strategies; and manages execution of resulting plans and initiatives.
Develops methodologies, reviews, and consistently improves financial models to ensure they are accurate and updated to reflect constantly changing business needs.
Conducts and documents complex corporate finance analyses and research on a project basis (i.e., evaluating the Companys capital structure and financing alternatives, etc.). Compiles financial data, analyzes information, and develops conclusions, including identifying and researching variances and trends, notifies management of inconsistencies or inaccuracies; identifies opportunities for improving analysis processes and procedures. Presents key findings of analysis to executive leadership and makes recommendations on the financial strength of potential investments.
Provides expertise in the development of systems, procedures, and controls; ensures the accuracy and quality of completed projects and reports, assesses requirements, determines appropriate application.
Builds and maintains strong relationships that support the development of an in-depth understanding of brand strategy and business objectives to identify areas where the departments capabilities and expertise can benefit the brand. Assesses business needs, asks the right questions, and develops an understanding of the reasons behind specific analysis requests in order to prioritize analyses and ensure outputs are timely, accurate, and adequately address root causes.
Participates in external negotiations related to investment opportunities; manages relationships, gathers data and relevant financial information from third party.
Identifies key marketplace trends including macro-economic, customer, technology, product and competitive and use in strategic analysis that drives successful investment decisions and operational efficiencies.
Leads the development of various internal dashboard and balanced scorecard KPI reporting.
Supports the company growth strategy by evaluating potential business opportunities including conducting market research, performing complex financial and other analysis and diligence, and communicating recommendations.
Conducts data collection and market research related to corporate growth initiatives.
Leads certain real estate, refranchising and smaller acquisitions by liaising with internal cross function teams, external advisors and counter parties.
Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned and directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field. Masters degree preferred.
Experience 5-7 years relevant work experience, preferably in investment banking, consulting, venture capital/private equity, or corporate strategy preferred. Prior supervisory experience required.

Demonstrated ability of applying the 80/20 rule to reach insightful, actionable answers from incomplete information; avoid analysis overload or paralysis.
Big picture thinking, including ability to deep dive on specific opportunities while maintaining a pulse on the overall business.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and must be comfortable interacting with executive level leaders.
Ability to handle multiple priorities and work well under pressure.
Proficient knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior.
Physical Requirements - Ability to speak/hear clearly in person and on the telephone, ability to operate a computer keyboard. Ability to travel up to 10% of time as business needs require.

The range for this position is $124,500 - $177,300 and is based on an employee located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego. If the candidate is hired in a different city to work remote, we will apply a geographic pay differential based on the cost of labor in the market in which the employee resides.
