Manager, Strategic FinanceThe Manager, Strategic Finance will provide insights to Sumo Logic's leadership based on monitoring trends and developments in the industry, the economy, and capital markets. Reporting to the VP FP&A, this individual will be responsible for conducting research and analysis of both internal and external financial, business, and technology trends, including long term financial modeling. Candidates will have outstanding partnership and communication skills, be able to handle multiple priorities, as well as the ability to deal with the ambiguity that comes in a fast-growing organization. ResponsibilitiesMaintaining a detailed financial model, valuation model, and other relevant industry and market modelsStructure content for quarterly executive reviews of key projects, developing a consistent set of KPIsManage creation of internal reporting documents including board and other management presentations Support strategic short and long-term business decisions through financial modeling and analysis of investment opportunitiesTracking and reporting on financial performance and key developments of ecosystem participants, based on press reports, conference calls, investor presentations, equity research reports, and SEC filings Strong ability to turn data into actionable insightsInteracting with business unit leaders and several functional groups, including Communications, Marketing, Legal, and FinanceAd hoc reporting requests from the Leadership teamRequirements:Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field5+ years of related experience in a senior financial or strategic role in a public, technology based, growth business. Prior experience in investment banking is a strong preference.Self-starter with strong financial, business modeling and analysis skills; sound business judgmentAbility to work independently across multiple groups in a rapidly changing environmentSolid project management capabilities; able to work under deadlines to produce key deliverablesStrong research and analysis skills, including financial modeling and valuationAbility to provide sound business judgment, strategic thinking, and broad financial and business perspective across the organizationAbility to sort through complex issues, translate and communicate them in a clear, concise manner and develop appropriate solutions in a timely and responsive mannerGreat teammate who can thrive in a fast-paced work environment, often on multiple projects across different functional groupsExperience with Adaptive, Salesforce and NetSuite preferredAbout UsSumo Logic, Inc. empowers the people who power modern, digital business. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors which include (but aren't limited to) role level, skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, location, and experience. In addition to base pay, certain roles are eligible to participate in our bonus or commission plans, as well as our benefits offerings, and equity awards.
