Location Description:
Post Consumer Brands corporate headquarters in Lakeville, Minn. is about 20 miles south of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Lakeville has all the benefits of smaller town living with access to everything a large metropolitan area has to offer. Responsibilities:
Looking to pursue a career working on marketing and management of iconic pet brands? Do you want to gain hands-on experience in a growing, mission-driven, consumer-centric organization? Post Consumer Brands is looking for an MBAMarketing Intern to make an impact through a challenging, 12-week project at our Lakeville, MN campus, in Summer 2024. Throughout the summer, you’ll gain exposure to senior leaders, network across the company to understand PCB’s business, and gain a realistic preview of what it’s like to work at PCB. JOB FUNCTION
The purpose of this position is to be an integral member of the brand team and contribute to key business initiatives and projects that drive brand growth and innovation. Brand Managers own their business’s P&L and are responsible for all consumer marketing activities. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, finance and product development, to develop and execute marketing strategies and tactics that help our brands grow.
You’ll be assigned to a brand and will tackle a significant business challenge, providing a strategic recommendation by the end of the summer. Along the way, you’ll gain experience in market analysis, market research, creative development, business strategy and innovation and will close with a final presentation to the Chief Growth Officer and other Marketing leaders. This role is an exciting opportunity to hone skills and drive volume growth by identifying and delivering on consumer and retailer needs.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES / DUTIES
The MBAMarketing Internwill own several key projects in the Brand Management department. Assignments may include work such as:
  • Immersion in day-to-day business needs including competitive performance analysis, new product innovation, marketing strategy and forecasting
  • Synthesize insights and data from a wide variety of sources (qualitative & quantitative) to develop clear and actionable recommendations that will further brand strategies and support business planning processes.
  • Work closely with cross-functional team members to build and drive overall strategy and ensure executional excellence.
  • Identify and validate business risks and opportunities and drive action to address.
  • Work closely with Project Management and cross functional partners to deliver executions that link to brand strategy and meet financial targets.
  • Develop and track key metrics to understand innovation performance and recommend potential optimizations.
  • Present findings and plan recommendations to Marketing Leadership Team, including the Chief Growth Officer

Specific project and operational roles will be identified 30-60 days prior to the start of the internship, based on business need and intern interests.
Qualifications:
  • Candidates must be pursuing an MBA from an accredited program in Marketing or Management with graduation year in 2025
  • Passion for pets and our brands!
  • Proven leadership, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams (R&D, Marketing Communications, Insights, and Sales)
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes initiative to identify areas of opportunity and take action
  • A high level of competence in computer applications and the ability to use technology as a decision-support tool
  • Ability to identify and evaluate tactical methods to achieve objectives, identify deviations from the plan, and facilitate resolution
  • Ability to handle confidential information and use discretion within and outside of the organization
  • Previous internship or work experience (preferred)
  • Interest in the consumer packaged goods / manufacturing industry with the desire to start a career with Post Consumer Brands after graduation (strongly preferred)
