Job Title: Material Management and Transportation Specialist

Duration: 6-Month Contract (Renewable)

Location: Kinston, North Carolina

Salary: $35 per hour

Responsibilities:

As a Material Management and Transportation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in optimizing the flow of materials and goods within our organization. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Material Planning and Procurement:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess material needs and develop effective procurement strategies.
• Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems, with a preference for expertise in SAP, to manage and monitor inventory levels.
• Generate and analyze reports to identify potential material shortages and surplus.
• Logistics and Transportation:
• Coordinate transportation activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and products.
• Work closely with logistics partners to optimize shipping routes and reduce lead times.
• Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and address any issues that may arise during transit.
• Inventory Management:
• Implement and maintain efficient inventory control procedures.
• Conduct regular audits to validate inventory accuracy and address discrepancies promptly.
• Optimize stock levels to balance supply and demand while minimizing carrying costs.
• Supplier Relationship Management:
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve favorable agreements.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process improvement in material management and transportation.
• Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall supply chain performance.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in material management, procurement, and transportation.
• Familiarity with MRP and ERP systems, with a preference for SAP proficiency.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in material management and transportation.

Contract Terms:

This is a 6-month contract position with the possibility of renewal based on performance and business needs.
