About the role
Uses advanced skills to perform installation, preventive maintenance, and corrective repair of the automated packaging and distribution equipment.
What you’ll do
- Troubleshoots basic conveyance problems and AC circuitry and understands the proper resources for resolution.
- Maintains and repairs distribution center racking.
- Performs preventive/predictive maintenance of conveyance equipment using the appropriate job plans, procedures, and manuals.
- Creates and closes Work Orders to include labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used into asset management system.
- Tracks and stores department inventory, including spare parts.
- Assists with basic electronics/Programmable Logic Controls troubleshooting.
- Handles additional duties as assigned.

- No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.
What you’ll need
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Associates Degree (AA/AS) in Mechanical or Electrical field of study preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience and/or training.
- Experience with Automated conveyor systems and controls, repair of equipment, predictive/preventive maintenance tools and procedures, metal/wood fabrication.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding, write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor, understand and carry out general instructions, solve problems in standard situations.
- Physical requirements include stooping, long periods of standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Previous work experience with blueprints and schematics; electrical and electronic principles is a plus.
- Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System and robotic operation/maintenance preferred.
- Experience with (MHE) safety standards accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Safety Standards preferred.
