Job Description
Reports to the Shift Lead and completes Aircraft Load Plans using ICODES. They ensure that the deploying unit adheres to the established movement timetable; inspect packaging, marking, labeling and place carding; review shipping paper accompanying cargo for accurate descriptions and complete record of items to be air transported; build air load plans, and finalize all documentation of equipment for air movement. The Material Coordinator reviews all unit Air Load Plans with Diplomatic Clearance for HAZMAT to ensure the units do not exceed their planned weights authorized and validated by AMC and FORSCOM. They assist in the collection of data for end of month reports. They plan and coordinate the movement of military personnel and cargo through staged departure and arrival points for inbound and outbound deployments. The Material Coordinator tracks inbound/outbound missions with GDSS, and/or SMS. They maintain and process air movement records in accordance with department procedures. The Material Coordinator has knowledge of the coordination of movement of personnel and cargo in support of training and real world deployments. They must obtain a “Secret” clearance and maintain it throughout employment. The Material Coordinator coordinates the processing and loading of personnel and cargo based on deployment plans and aircraft schedules. They perform passenger service duties to ensure quality customer service and compliance with IOPs and Defense Transportation Regulations. They perform passenger service dispatch duties, maintain aircraft status boards, receive air mission set-ups, and relay information on passenger processing and movements to the A/DACG Operations/Shift leader. They coordinate and control the processing and movement of passengers through the air terminal and other designated areas. They assist the deploying unit with air passenger manifesting and ensure the air manifest is legible with all required data. The Material Coordinator briefs troop commander IAW anti-hijacking procedures and ensures all hand-carried items are within established weight and size restrictions. They provide.passengers with flight information/delays and comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, and Working Rules.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Material Coordinator are a vital position within the Ft Bragg Arrival/Departure Airfield Control Group (A/DACG) and report directly to the Supply Tech Shift Lead. Reviews and completes aircraft load plans using ICODES. Ensures deploying units adhere to established movement timetables; inspects packaging, marking, labeling and placarding; reviews shipping paperwork accompanying cargo for accuracy and completeness. Finalizes all cargo and passenger documentation for air movement as necessary, verifies the shipper’s declaration for dangerous goods match diplomatic clearances approved by USTC in SMS/GDSS. Validates final aircraft weights do not exceed the allowable cabin load (ACL) for each mission. MCs assist in the collection of data for end of month reports by processing/maintaining air movement records in accordance with department procedures. MCs plan and coordinate the movement of military personnel and cargo through staged departure and arrival points in support of training and real-world deployments. The MC tracks inbound/outbound missions with GDSS/SMS to ensure strict movement timelines are met. They must obtain a “Secret” clearance and maintain it throughout employment. MCs may be tasked to support passenger service duties to ensure quality customer service and compliance with IOPs and Defense Transportation Regulations. MCs perform A/DACG dispatch duties, maintain aircraft status boards, receive air mission set-ups, and relay information on passenger/cargo processing and movements to the A/DACG Supervisor/Shift leader and other agencies as required. Must attend and maintain currency with the Army’s AMO course. Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and be able to operate all-terrain vehicles, pick-up trucks, and operate generated mounted light sets. Must be able to life 50 pounds unaided. MCs must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, Work Instructions and complete all assigned duties as directed by the A/DACG Supervisor and Supply Tech Shift Lead.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Training Requirements:
- Obtain and maintain Secret Clearance
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Drive a GSA vehicle
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Perform other duties as required that may involve working overtime, weekends, flexible hours and holidays.
