Job Summary
The Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator will support the Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Childrens Specialized Hospital in generating brand awareness of CSH via a variety of traditional marketing and communication platforms on a local, regional, and national level.
Essential Job Functions
- The coordinator will assist with the planning, creation, and execution of internal communications, external communications, marketing collateral, and special events.
- Works closely with leadership and external parties to initiate, organize, and disseminate these projects.
- Requires impeccable attention to detail and excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Interacts with all CSH staff, physicians, CSH families, volunteers, RWJBarnabas Health Strategic Marketing staff, vendors, media, patients and general public.
- Supports internal communications, including the weekly newsletter, organizational announcements, leader messages, system news and weekly round-up, intranet posts, video interviews, presentations, training materials and multi-media pieces; Assists with content development and execution of internal events; Provides communication support for various efforts throughout the organization; Supports employee engagement efforts; Oversees the work of internal resources, vendors and freelancers; Oversees updates to CSH Intranet as needed.
- Assists in handling media requests and writing and distributing media alerts and press releases; Assists in identifying potential patient stories and connects with patients and families in an effort to share their experiences at CSH, maintains relationships with these families for future communication/marketing opportunities; Coordinates photo permissions for photo shoots and press events; Coordinates photo shoots for patient stories and takes photos as needed.
- Assists in writing, proofreading, and editing of all marketing collateral; Assists in the creation of and updates to promotional materials for service lines, programs, and special events; Reviews and updates on-hold messaging system and lobby screens monthly.
- Video projects and special events: Assists in planning and scheduling video projects as needed for marketing purposes or events.
- Supports hospital events.
- Provides support to Director of Marketing & Public Relations at CSH; Attends hospital meetings and represents department on committees as requested; Ensures proper use of logo, messaging, and other branding materials; Works cooperatively and communicates openly with internal resources, clients and contracted vendors to ensure understanding of project needs, requirements, deadlines and budget; Ensures compliance of privacy practices and remains knowledgeable of applicable policies and regulations; Responds to requests in a timely manner, including evenings/weekends as needed.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, required.
- Two plus years of marketing/Public Relations experience preferred, healthcare experience desirable.
- Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point, Constant Contact, Google Analytics, Canva, and Hootsuite.
- Photography and video editing skills.
- Strong familiarity with social media outlets including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter.
- Exceptional writing abilities.
- Must be able to work independently and handle multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
